Orange Alginate Laundry Bag with Dissolvable Strip (20x27")

Orange Alginate Laundry Bags with Dissolvable Strip provide a hygienic, hands-free solution for handling soiled linens in healthcare and commercial laundry environments. The water-soluble alginate material and dissolvable stitch strip eliminate the need for manual bag opening, reducing contact with contaminated items and supporting strict infection control protocols. These bags are essential for facilities processing large volumes of potentially infectious laundry.

Key Features

• Material: Virgin alginate, water-soluble polymer
• Size/Capacity: 20 x 27 inches (690 x 510mm), 30 micron (120 gauge)
• Pack size: 500 bags per case
• Dissolvable strip: Stitch strip dissolves completely during the wash cycle for touchless processing

Ideal For

Hospitals and healthcare facilities rely on these bags for isolating contaminated bed linens, gowns, and towels from wards, operating theatres, and patient rooms. Nursing homes and residential care centres use them to safely collect soiled bedding and personal items while protecting staff from cross-contamination. Commercial laundries serving the healthcare sector benefit from streamlined processing, as bags dissolve directly in industrial washing machines without manual intervention. Hotels with on-site laundry operations use alginate bags for handling heavily soiled items that require isolation from regular linens.

Picture the daily routine in a busy hospital laundry department: staff collect orange bags from each ward, load them directly into washing machines without opening, and the alginate dissolves completely during the hot wash cycle. In a care home setting, carers can seal soiled bedding at the point of collection, minimising handling and reducing infection transmission risks throughout the building.

Good to Know

Store these bags in a cool, dry environment away from moisture to prevent premature dissolution. The orange colour provides clear visual identification for contaminated laundry streams, helping staff sort items correctly. For best results, ensure washing machines reach the temperature required to fully dissolve the alginate material. These bags work effectively in standard industrial laundry equipment and pair well with colour-coded laundry trolleys and hampers for organised collection systems.
