Kitchen Master 401 Descaler for Utensil Washing Machines (2x5L)

Kitchen Master 401 Descaler for Utensil Washing Machines is a professional-strength hydrochloric acid descaler formulated to remove limescale, calcium, magnesium and protein deposits from commercial dishwashing equipment. This biodegradable, phosphate-free liquid keeps wash arms, spray jets and interior machine components clear of hard water mineral buildup, preventing costly breakdowns and maintaining peak washing performance in high-volume foodservice operations.

Key Features

• Material: Clear, light green, non-viscous liquid with hydrochloric acid base
• Size/Capacity: 5 litre bottles
• Pack size: 2 per case
• Eco credentials: Surfactants are biodegradable and phosphate-free
• Compatibility: Suitable for machine dishwashers, water coolers, water boilers and air conditioning filters

Ideal For

Hotels and restaurants rely on this descaler to maintain their commercial dishwashers during busy service periods, ensuring glassware and crockery emerge spotless without residue from clogged spray jets. Cafés and coffee shops use it to descale water boilers and espresso machine components where hard water deposits accumulate quickly. Caterers and event venues depend on regular descaling to keep mobile dishwashing units running reliably across multiple locations. Commercial kitchens in schools, hospitals and canteens schedule routine treatments to extend equipment lifespan and reduce emergency service calls.

During weekly maintenance, kitchen porters apply the descaler to interior dishwasher surfaces, targeting the wash arms and spray nozzles where mineral scale restricts water flow. Facilities teams also treat water coolers and boiler elements to maintain heating efficiency and water quality. In hard water areas across Ireland, regular use prevents the gradual performance decline that leads to poorly cleaned dishes and eventual machine failure.

Good to Know

The non-viscous liquid formula allows easy application and thorough penetration into machine internals. This descaler is non-flammable with a pH of approximately 1, so appropriate handling precautions should be observed. For complete dishwasher maintenance, pair with Kitchen Master 308Plus Machine Dishwash Detergent (20L) or Kitchen Master Machine Dishwash Detergent (5L) for daily washing cycles. Economical in use, the concentrated formula is particularly effective against the mineral deposits common in hard water regions.
